SurveysOnchain ("we", "us", "the Platform") is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data, separate identity from responses, and enforce configurable privacy floors to prevent individual re-identification. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

Wallet Address

When you connect your wallet, we store your public wallet address to identify your account, track survey participation, and process reward payouts. We do not have access to your private keys.

Survey Responses

When you complete a survey, your responses are recorded and anchored on-chain. Responses are stored separately from wallet identity in our database. Survey creators receive aggregated, anonymized analytics — never raw responses linked to individual wallets.

Demographic Data

You may optionally provide demographic information to qualify for targeted surveys. This data is stored separately from survey responses and is never shared with Publishers in a way that could identify an individual respondent.

Device and Usage Data

We collect limited device fingerprint data, IP addresses, and usage patterns solely for anti-abuse and fraud prevention purposes. This data is not used for advertising, tracking, or profiling and is retained for a maximum of 90 days.

3. Privacy Floors

The Platform enforces minimum cohort sizes to prevent individual re-identification in analytics. These thresholds vary by tenant profile:

Analytics results are only displayed when the number of responses in a group meets or exceeds the applicable threshold. Health-mode surveys additionally block free-text questions to prevent inadvertent disclosure of protected health information.

4. Data Separation

Wallet identity mapping is architecturally separated from response analytics views. This means that even in the event of a data breach, survey responses cannot be trivially linked back to individual wallet addresses. Survey creators access data through anonymized analytics dashboards that enforce the applicable privacy floor.

5. On-Chain Data

Survey response verifications are anchored on the Base blockchain. On-chain data is public and immutable by nature. However, only verification hashes are stored on-chain — actual response content is not published to the blockchain. This provides tamper-proof verification without exposing response data publicly.

6. How We Use Data

• Process and verify survey responses
• Distribute USDC and SOC token rewards
• Provide anonymized analytics to survey creators
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate submissions
• Improve Platform performance and reliability
• Generate aggregate platform metrics (total responses, surveys created, etc.)

7. Data We Do Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless voluntarily provided via contact form)
• Private keys or wallet seed phrases
• Location data beyond IP-based country detection for fraud prevention
• Browsing history or cross-site tracking data

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Anonymized, aggregated analytics with survey creators (subject to privacy floors)
• With service providers who assist in operating the Platform (e.g., hosting, infrastructure)
• When required by law or to respond to legal process
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of SurveysOnchain or its users

9. Data Retention

Survey response data is retained for the lifetime of the survey plus 12 months. Anti-abuse data (device fingerprints, IP logs) is retained for a maximum of 90 days. On-chain verification hashes are permanent and immutable. You may request deletion of your off-chain data by contacting us.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may disconnect your wallet at any time to stop using the Platform. To exercise data rights, please contact us through the contact form on our website.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
